Course Update

Although the course is beginning to quieten down in terms of both member play and visitor bookings it isn't a quieter time for the Greenkeeping Team. This past week they have been working on the greens to help with aeration and ensure they remain in top shape for the months ahead. Over the next few weeks the fairways will be worked on. As mentioned previously, due to the periods of drought over the course of this season there are areas of the fairways which are in poorer condition than we would like. A significant investment was made at the end of last month in terms of fertilisers and seed to aid their recovery.
If you have been on the golf course in the last week or so you will have noticed the white lines for the temporary greens for the winter ahead, hopefully they don't have to be used too often. Please treat these as GUR for the time being.
Currently we are planning on going ahead with the same frost policy as the last few years - if we start the day on temporary greens we stay on temporary greens, but we are looking at pushing back the first tee time at certain times in the winter when short frost delays are possible and starting 30 minutes to an hour after sunrise would be beneficial.
Lets hope we have an easy going winter and we can all enjoy plenty golf...
