This week we took delivery of some new machinery, firstly a new tractor which will help with many jobs across the course, one of which is the use of the new rough cutter! Many of you will be pleased to hear about that!
The new rough cutter is much wider than the existing rough mower and attaches to the new tractor which all in makes the job much more efficient. Efficiency is key for Ally & The Team as the constant cycle of cutting throughout the busy summer months never stops. We also have a new blower on order which will attach to the tractor and blow away cut grass, leaves, etc, again this will speed up the process of finishing up certain jobs massively which then allows the guys to work on other things.
I think we can all agree the course is looking great currently and the feedback from the many different nationalities of late has echoed this.
With the gents Open this Saturday and then the Seniors Open on Thursday 11th July I am sure all of the competitors will enjoy the course that will be ready in wait for them...
Ahead of this Saturday's Gents Open a special mention to Mark Drummond of PD Cars Carnoustie for his continued support of the event. This year would have seen Mark's Dad, Bill turn 100 years old so has very generously increased the prize pot for the 7th hole! If anyone is lucky enough to have a hole in 1 the prize will be £1000 to spend in The Pro Shop!!! For nearest the pin it will be £500!! So once again thank you Mark, it is greatly appreciated, let's hope we have a cracking day.
