Opening day success!

This past Saturday saw the Opening Day of the season take place, it was great to see so many of you out there with 142 entrants! For me, I think we need to kick the season off with some form of event every year so I really hope this will become an annual event that will only get better and better.

All 142 participants were assigned to either the Captain or Vice Captain's team and the total stableford scores from each team were totalled up to crown the winner! It was very close with only 29 points separating the teams! In the end Vice Captain, Pete Falconer's team was the winner.

In the individual competition, Doug Adam was the Opening Day Champion with a fantastic 42 points.

I had TrackMan set up on the first tee, which created a lot of interest and gave many of you the opportunity to see what it can do and the information it can provide! Out of the 142 players the average drive, total distance was 184 yards! No that is not a mistake, yes the machine is very accurate! The longest drive of the day was 279!

Below is a list of all of the prize winners, thanks again to everyone who took part, much appreciated. Thanks also to the club for providing the rolls and coffee and finally thank you to Ross and Arlene for seeing the rolls and coffee.
