Welcome to our first newsletter of 2021! Firstly, we hope you enjoyed the recent festive period as much as possible. Secondly, following the First Minister's announcement earlier this week, playing golf is still permitted during this latest lockdo

Hello Golfers,
Happy New Year?
A Frosty Outlook!!

Not the start we were looking for to 2021 but to be honest I'm not overly surprised. My mission over the next few weeks and newsletters is to talk about lockdown as little as possible. As frustrating as it is, my view is that two ball golf is better than no golf! Here is a quick rundown on the procedures we have in place -

  • 2 BALLS ONLY
  • NO VISITORS/MEMBERS GUEST (if there are available times on the day they may be allowed)
  • NO TRAVEL TO COURSE IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE ANGUS BORDERLINE
  • MAXIMUM OF 3 GAMES PER WEEK ONLY 1 AT THE WEEKEND. (WILL BE REVIEWED AFTER THE FIRST 7-10 DAYS)
  • REGISTER IN PRO SHOP BEFORE ROUND
  • KEEP UP PACE OF PLAY/ HIT A PROVISIONAL BALL IF IN DOUBT
  • ENJOY YOURSELF - IT COULD BE WORSE!!!

All of these will be reviewed after the first week, in particular, the 1 game at the weekend and 3 games per week. It is also important to note that although we are saying a max of 3 games, if there are afternoon times available then you can book these via the Pro Shop on the day.

None of these decisions was taken lightly, they were done to allow as many members as possible to get a game of golf. I fully appreciate if you work Monday to Friday then these restrictions are frustrating for you, I promise we will monitor this weekend and look to put in additional/alternative rules to help allow you more golf.

Any questions please feel free to get in touch.

Under Armour waterproof jackets - available through us

Well, we will all be trying to get out of the house for some good walks over the next few weeks, but they're a lot less enjoyable if you’re caught out in the rain. That’s why it is so important to have a waterproof jacket that really gets the job done.

Under Armour’s Portrush jacket does exactly that, and with a flourish; giving you complete waterproof protection, a stylish look and freedom of movement in your swing. Now that’s happiness, Mr Norman.

Video of the Week

Every good round of golf requires a bit of luck, be it a favourable bounce around the greens or a preferable lie off the fairway. Sometimes it is far more extreme, as this highlight reel from the European Tour showcases. Enjoy.
