Course Update 

Tees

Tee’s will be hollow tined, top dressed with bunker sand and seeded with Aitkens fine rye seed over the coming weeks.

The 9th and 13th will get extra seed-applied in the hope that this will improve the appearance and quality of these tees.

With this in mind and the golf season being extended over November, the Course Committee have decided that in order to protect the Par 3 tees a mat must be used when playing from these tees

A mat will also have to be used if an iron is to be used from any tee.

Bunkers

All bunkers which have a GUR sign next to or in them are deemed out of play. Relief should be taken in accordance with Rules of Golf i.e nearest point of relief but not nearer to the hole

These rules will come into play on the 2nd of November 2020.

 
Innes Update

Rain, hail or shine

It has been a few weeks since I have talked about the little man in my life! He is still absolutely obsessed with golf!

When he gets up in the morning he normally claps his hands (this is his way of saying golf currently) before he has even had his breakfast! We put golf on tv whilst breakfast is being eaten then hope that the weather is kind so he can go out in the back garden to whack balls around!

If the weather isn't good the only one that cares is my wife or me, Innes goes out regardless! Oh to be 21 months old again!

On the progress front, he's doing great. He very rarely misses the ball, we have had to reduce the ball from a proper golf ball to 30% so that they don't keep going into the neighbour's gardens!

If we decide to go on a non-golfy walk or visit to the park he normally finds something that can be used as can be seen in the above pic!

Oh and his preference is still to use a right-handed club but play left-handed, it is obviously too easy the other way!

Golf on Tour

It's not over yet!

The golfing season would have pretty much finished by this point if it were a ‘normal year’. The men’s game would have named its four Major champions, the women’s game its five big winners, and another cracking Ryder Cup enjoyed.

Sadly, this hasn’t been the case but the good – okay, great - news is that there are still two Majors left to play: an autumnal Masters Tournament from Augusta National and the U.S Women’s Open from Champions Golf Club.

We'll find out who'll be wearing the Green Jacket in just a couple of weeks, and the world’s best are certainly finding their A-games in preparation. Patrick Cantlay won the weekend’s Zozo Championship by one shot from Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm; Rory McIlroy made a record-breaking 29 birdies over the same four days, albeit he mixed them with 8 bogeys and 3 doubles; Hatton and Fitzpatrick are performing well both sides of the Atlantic; DJ is fresh off the back of his FedEx Cup triumph and Bryson is testing longer driver shafts as his looks to dominate Augusta.
