CONSEQUENCE! I thought I would start this week's newsletter a little differently! I have now played two days in a row, I even practiced for 30 minutes before my first round! I hear a lot in the shop "I hit it great on the range" and then can't take that swing to the course. I pretty much always reply the same thing - CONSEQUENCE! On the range if you hit a bad shot, you just whack another ball, if this happens on the course you have to play it from it's resting spot or sometimes go to the bag for a reload! For me there are two ways to work on this, firstly is making your practice more "game like", setting targets, changing targets, trying to alter ball flight. There are lots of ways to make it feel more like you are on the course Secondly and for me more important is committing to the shot. Stand up, pick your target, try to envisage how the shot will be played and then COMMIT. |
