Earlier this week the Links, club and myself met, at safe social distance, to discuss plans for re-opening. At the time of writing this, 19:10 on Tuesday evening there has been no Government announcement, although rumours are flying around of a Monday 11th May opening for golf courses. I think this might be a little premature, but I am often wrong, or so Moira tells me! Many of procedures were in place before lockdown, rakes removed, holes turned upside down, flags remain in. Now though there is a far wider appreciation of the enormity of what we are living in and the current requirement for social distancing. There will be changes to tee time intervals, potentially the number allowed in one group, time spent before and after play, the list is almost endless. There will be a document going out to all members once we receive the info we require from Government. It will be extensive and ultimately a very important read for all golfers who plan to play at Arbroath for the forseeable future. Of course we welcome feedback any ideas before the document goes out and once it has been released. |
