Perfect For Winter

As you all know by now I like to look at many different areas of the golfing world in my newsletter and this week I want to look at two areas for winter golf. Firstly is Motocaddy and a couple of the trolley options that are available.

The S1 Electric, ideal for the golfer looking for an easy to use and impressively featured entry-level trolley.

Next up is the CUBE Push Trolley, The CUBE’s simple two step folding system allows it to easily reduce down in size to fit into the smallest of car boots.

Finally, in this weeks newsletter, I want to talk about which ball to use over the winter months. Obviously it is colder and generally damper conditions in the winter and it is worth changing the type of ball you use to accommodate these conditions.

My first piece of advice would be to use something a little firmer than normal. Also, a ball with a lower compression than you might normally use can have benefits in the winter months. Due to the damp ground you ideally want something that will carry a little further and a lower compression ball can help with that.

My recommendations would be the Callaway Supersoft and the Srixon Soft Feel. Another good option in the winter is colour! I have these available in yellow and orange! However, if adding a bit of colour isn’t for you I have them in good old bright white.

Don't pack the clubs away yet

October has always been difficult to predict. One minute it's warm enough for just a polo and the next you need an all-singing, all-dancing raincoat. This is why having a lightweight mid-layer is vital to bridge the gap and have you covered whatever the weather throws your direction.

Who had a pair of these?

I'm sure the shoes below will make a lot of you smile. It's been a long time since golf shoes looked like the first image and it's safe to say that comfort, style and traction have all come a long way since then - even if some of us think the overlapping tongues looked great!

Old style shoes

It wasn't just the daring uppers and striking tongue that defined golf shoes from yesteryear; flip the shoes upside down and the hard leather outsole featured single metal spikes that resembled weapons more so than traction pods.

Modern golf shoes

Spotlight | TaylorMade P790 irons

When TaylorMade launched its original P790 irons back in 2017, it's safe to say they went down a storm with golfers across the country.
