Other bunkers may be considered for work but the usual constraints of weather, time and cost will have a bearing on these works. Tees These will be solid tined and top dressed. 8th Tee - the worn and damaged turf next to the path will be re- turfed. 11th Tee - the turf adjacent to the tee will be tined, seeded and fertilised. Fairways These will be spiked with several being reshaped. Greens These will be maintained over the winter months as weather permits. Holes will be cut once a week which again will be weather dependant. Machinery Mowers etc will all be maintained and serviced in readiness for the new season. Tee markers and posts will be repainted The Gorse bushes on the Right of the 6th Fairway will be removed to prevent root damage to the underground drainage which caused the flooding last year. If time, weather and finance allows, the shrubs at the front of the Pro Shop will be removed and a practice pitching area formed. FROST POLICY With play during the winter and traffic on the greens there is significantly more damage to the greens when there is frost on the ground. This damage makes the grass plant more susceptible to disease and with this in mind the recommendation is: On experiencing a white frost (rime) pins to be placed on winter greens prior to play and to remain so for the rest of the day. If the occasion arises, the Head Greenkeeper will have the authority to close the course to allow white frost (rime) to lift, to allow play on the big greens. On experiencing a hard frost pins are put on the winter greens until the day after the frost has fully thawed from the soil.
