Course Update
Towards the end of last week we verticut the greens two ways, double cut and rolled them.
Verticutting is part of ongoing maintenance to cut through lateral growth, encouraging new stronger growth and aids air and water into the surface by removing thatch giving the greens a smoother putting surface.
On Monday morning we dusted the greens with top dressing. Dusting the greens regularly over the season will be part of our ongoing maintenance program. As the sand is put on very lightly this causes no disruption to the play. Over the season this will improve drainage, firmness and smoothness of the putting surfaces.
We can also encourage more desired grass species with an improved soil composition. Learn more about this process here.

Finally we have a winner! Actually, we have 2. Well done to Norrie Kinnes and Richard Wood for their 2s at the 5th this past Saturday. They both receive £146! Congratulations.
Pro's Day - 27th May
The forecast is looking fantastic this weekend, so if you haven't got your name down for the Pro's Day, there's still time. Lots of prizes will be on offer, plus a BBQ and a free beer! But remember to bring your sun cream.
Stay Cool This Summer
The season is now in full swing and the course is looking great after an unusually dry April.
But the recent rain and warmer temperatures forecast will mean the course will be in its best condition over the next month. Long may it continue!
And with these warmer temperatures, now is the time to think about staying cool and comfortable on the course. We've got a great summer clothing range in the Pro Shop from Under Armour, Adidas, Callaway, Glenmuir and Stuburt. Click here to view Under Armour's summer range online.
All The Best Grant
Some of you may have heard - but for those who haven't - my Assistant Grant is sadly leaving Glenrothes in a couple of week's time. Grant has been working with me for just over a year now and has built up some great relationships with the members.
I'm sure you will all join me in wishing him all the best in his new role as Assistant Professional at Cruden Bay Golf Club.
