Sprinklers on again
After another dry week the sprinklers have been on again in the past week, it's hard to believe but its been over 5 weeks since we have had any significant rain. Any small downpours we have had have been left unnoticeable by the strong winds that have been present for the past month or so. The green keeping team will continue to hand water and use the manual sprinkler system but if you come across the hoses when out on the course feel free to turn off to play your shot but please remember to switch back on!
Quite often I hear mixed reviews on the greens from the members throughout the week particularly those who have played in the morning then those who have went out around 5.00 in the early evening. Hopefully the article below will help create a better understanding as to why there can be such a change in green conditions throughout the day.

The season is well underway now and although the temperatures have been low the course is playing fast and fiery! Hopefully the temperatures will increase and we can get out on the golf course in 1 or 2 layers rather than the 4 or 5 it has been recently!

Unfortunately I won't be around this weekend to have the usual banter or hear about your 3 putts as I am getting married on Saturday! Thank you for all the good luck messages I have received so far although it is probably Moira who should be receiving those!
I will be back for the following weekend though and I'm sure Grant will do a great job of looking after you all. Happy golfing and I will see you next week.
