Catignani Qualifier
This past Saturday the Catignani Qualifier took place. There was a mixed bag of good and not so good scoring!!
There are now 32 players involved in the Sunday singles matchplay beginning this week so good luck all of those who are taking part. This Saturday is the April Medal which is the first Monthly medal of the season fingers crossed we won't experience the sleet and high winds which are currently hitting the golf course as I write this weeks newsletter.
A Lynx Success
Good luck to Christopher Anderson with his new set of Lynx Irons which were custom fitted recently. Coming back to the game after a few years away Chris showed some impressive ball striking using the latest Lynx Predator Irons.
For anyone interested in a fitting for Lynx or any of the other brands I stock please contact the Pro Shop Team. I use a mixture of launch monitor technology, ES14, and ball flight understanding to complete my Custom Fitting Assessment and it is a massively worthwhile process for all level of golfers.
Spike or Spikeless? With the recent dry conditions, minus todays sleet!, there has been a lot of interest in the spikeless shoes on offer. Currently at the Pro Shop we have a wide range of both spiked and spikeless shoes from FootJoy, Adidas, Stuburt & Under Armour.
We are also running the "Shoe size Challenge" where we challenge you to make sure the shoes you are wearing are correct. It is hugely important the shoes you wear for a round of golf are correct as you are in them from anywhere from 2-5 hours, potentially walking up to 7 miles during a round of golf!!
Pop in to the Pro Shop to see what is available and how we can improve your game through the correct footwear.
Assitant's News
With the weather being warmer the past week I managed to get out on the course on a couple of occasions. Thanks to Alan Kyle and Ian Riddell for putting up with me for 9 holes and to Haiden Ramage, one of our junior members, for a tight match ending in a half (tough giving away 2 shots a hole).
I was also busy on Saturday with the start of our Junior Coaching. 10 kids in the morning, 9 in the afternoon so certainly had my hands full. Great fun and pleasing to see so many youngsters enjoying themselves.
