The competitions are now in full swing
This Saturday is the Bill Stewart Trophy where the format is a Bogey competition.
The Tuesday sweep and Thursday 9 Hole George Stenhouse Memorial Trophy are also underway. Both will run until the middle of October.
Easter Coaching Camp
Last week my Assistant Grant ran an Easter Coaching Camp, there were 8 juniors in attendance and the had a great time. Grant covered all aspects of the game including 5/6 holes on the golf course each afternoon.
Our weekly coaching begins on the 22nd April, the afternoon class is now full up but we still have a couple of spots available in the morning, 10.00-11.00.
Junior Open Night
On Wednesday 26 April we are hosting a Junior Open Night at the Golf Club. For the 2017 Season there is no charge to join the golf club as a junior and you can buy a Rover ticket for £20 for the year so it is an excellent opportunity to play lots of golf for for a small fee.
The idea of the Open Night is for kids and parents to come along and see what Glenrothes Golf Club has to offer and to get to know the surroundings. You will be able to meet the Junior Conveynor, Assistant Professional and myself, Head Professional, on the night to ask any questions. There will also be Free Pool and a Wii golf competition.
Something for everyone!
The shop is now fully stocked for the 2017 season, there will be additions as the season goes on!, some of the most popular items over the weekend were the new Club Logo goods that arrived. As well as the traditional polo shirts and pullovers I have added in logo Headcovers, Towles & Caps!
The Masters
I think everyone would agree this years Masters was exceptionally good. I barely moved from the sofa all through Saturday and Sundays play and I'm sure I wasn't the only one! For me the decisive moment was at the 13th on Sunday when Garcia scrambled a par and Rose missed for birdie. That definitely gave Garcia the spring back in his step and the golf he played thereafter was phenomenal.
I don't like the phrase "deserves it" I think you earn things in life especially in golf. There are a lot of factors outwith your control when playing any golf competition and all you can ultimately do is commit to every shot and see where you end up.
Well done Sergio, I wouldn't be surprised if he wins another Major or 2 during the rest of his career!

It’s time to consider something different The majority of golfers are switching to Lithium batteries to power their electric trolley because, with a 5-year limited warranty, it provides a reliable and more cost-effective option than a Lead-Acid alternative. Now is the ideal time to swap as we’re offering £25 OFF a Lithium battery when you trade-in your old one. | Click here to find out why it pays to go Lithium |
