Modernising Golf's Rules

Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.

Course update

The hard work has continued over the past week with the reconstruction of the bunker at the front right of 12, well done to those of you who guessed correctly last week!

Other work being carried out in the past week has been the drainage issue at the back of the 8th green. The aim of this work is to reduce surface water problems around the green. Depending on how the water drains we may end up with a new water hazard in the trees at the back of the 8th green which is more likely to come in to play from an errant tee shot from the 7th tee rather than whilst playing the 8th!

   


 

The most exciting month of the year

For me March is the most exciting month of the year, the buzz for the new season starts to circulate from the members, the course begins to look a little greener, and the new stock for the season begins to arrive in the shop.
